CASED PAIR ORNATE ENGLISH DUELING PISTOLS
|
Nice cased pair of what appear to be English made highly
crafted dueling pistols used by Southern Aristocrats to
settle their "misunderstandings" . Gutta percha or
something similar make up a few of the tools present in
the case. Missing a couple of the tools. Nice blue and
case coloring on both of these ornately produced
"dueling" pistols. Mechanically sound on both pistols.
Very elaborate cased pair of artfully crafted Southern
high society recreation.

CONFEDERATE "DOG RIVER" M1840 SWORD/SCABBARD
|
Classic example of an Enlistedman's "Dog River" Cavalry
sword. Sword and scabbard are complete. Brass guard has
a nice dark mottle colored yellow aged patina. Russet
brown leather wrap and double single stranded iron wire
are complete as well. Blade is the classic crude
Confederate manufacture with lots of waves and casting
flaws to it. Scabbard retains both brass mounts and
throat. Remainder of iron scabbard and drag are in very
fine condition with a nice brown patina.

EXCAVATED CONFEDERATE BOWIE (TEXAS)
|
I found this Confederate
"Bowie" over 20 years ago in Waul's Texas Legion camp in
Waterford, Mississippi. Also found a Texas two piece
buckle approximately 20 yards away. The bowie when found
was sticking straight up in the sandy soil on a hilltop
overlooking the camp site. Iron is in excellent
condition for being excavated with just the slightest
amount of pitting due to rusting. Has a brass end cap
and also a brass ferrule on the blade tang. Measures 27
inches in total length 22 1/4 inches in blade length and
2 1/2 inches in width. Outstanding excavated example of
a bonafide Texas Confederate locally manufactured Bowie.
